Greens successful in 2021 Lancashire local elections

Elections results

Congratulations and many thanks to everyone involved in 2021 local elections, whether you were standing, supporting, or simply voting green! It was a great day for the Green Party across the UK, and although the East Lancs Green Party only stood non-target candidates, we had a full slate of candidates in the County Council divisions in Hyndburn and Ribble Valley. You can take a look at us at the count in the Accrington Town Hall .

 

Greens have achieved record results this year:

• Greens won a total of 155 seats, including 99 gains (see details)
• Party has seen representation gained on 18 new councils (see details)

In particular in Lancashire we have seen fantastic results in Burnley with Andy Fewings winning a seat in the Lancashire County Council for Burnley West, joining Gina Dowding and doubling the Green presence at LCC. The only way is up! In the Burnley Borough Council elections, we gained 3 new councillors giving us a group of 5 Greens on the Council, great work!
